Dr. Jaime Martín Pérez received his PhD in Chemical Sciences at the Instituto de Ciencia y Tecnología de Polímeros (CSIC) and Universidad Complutense de Madrid for developing polymeric one-dimensional nanostructures by means of template-based techniques. He specialized in the synthesis of anodic aluminum oxide templates and developed new experimental methods which allow obtaining polymer nanorods, nanotubes and their ordered arrays composed of mostly known polymers and organic compounds. Besides, he focused on confinement effects of crystallization and molecular dynamics of polymers. For that, he familiarized oneself with several experimental techniques: calorimetry, X-Ray and neutron diffraction, neutron scattering, dielectric spectroscopy, etc.
